The Pickle is a straightforward bar & grill situated on E Morse Street in Markle, offering a comfortable, no-frills local spot to grab a casual meal or catch up with friends over a drink. The atmosphere strikes a practical balance between a neighborhood hangout and a modest dining room, featuring updated seating and a couple of pool tables that add to the relaxed vibe.

Food-wise, The Pickle centers around hearty, familiar American fare with an emphasis on generous portions and approachable flavors. Patrons tend to lean into their signature potato dishes topped with creative mixes like pizza or taco fixings, along with classic sandwiches including the Chicken Club, Pork Tenderloin, and Italian Sub with fries. The thin crust Philly Steak pizza and fried apps, such as wings and pretzels, offer solid pub-style picks that appeal to groups or families looking for variety without fuss.

The drink menu includes standard selections like Budweiser alongside bourbons and typical bar beverages, rounding out the casual dining experience. The kitchen’s strength seems to lie in comfort food elevated by fresh preparation, with some seafood options like blackened salmon and cod-fish basket standing out for those wanting something a bit lighter.

Service here is generally friendly and straightforward, though at times the pace can slow, particularly when settling the bill—something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. The overall cleanliness and welcoming demeanor of the staff contribute to a straightforward dining environment without pretense.

This spot works best for locals or travelers stopping through Markle who want a reliable, moderately priced meal alongside a drink in a down-to-earth setting. Early evenings and weekend nights are likely the liveliest times when groups gather around pool tables and share a few rounds. The Pickle fits well as a neighborhood go-to for casual dinners and socializing rather than a destination for special occasions.

Phenomenal pizza! Very generous toppings, cooked perfectly, and a great price! Tried the taco potato and would definitely order again, plus try other ones. Breadsticks were flavorful and soft, and the munchie appetizers were all very good! Service was great, was super easy to pay and be on my way. All the dips, etc were in the bags and everything was perfect! Great place and worth the drive!

Nice updated bar with seating for dining in. Reasonable pricing. Ordered a burger and curley fries, which were ok - nothing great but not bad either. Reasonable prices. 2 pool tables inside.

We are usually only in this area for the Antique Shop. But a local told us to give this place a try so we did. We were not expecting much but we could not have been more wrong. Walking in, the first thing we noticed was it is very clean in here. And the staff are very welcoming. I ordered blackened salmon and my wife ordered cod. Both dishes were absolutely wonderful. Few places actually surprise me but this one definitely did. So much, that from now on when we come through Markle we will be stopping in here at the pickle as well. Great job!!!

We were driving through traveling through Indiana and decided to stop here for a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere was wonderful , definitely a nice local place. Service and food was good. It was a nice stop off for us.

Came from out of town, seems like a very local place. Food was great, had the pizza potato which is smashed whole potatoes with pizza toppings on top, surprisingly good. Prices were actually reasonable compared to chain restaurants. The only downfall was the slow service to get the bill and then wait for my card back afterwards, a solid 20 minutes after our plates were taken away. There's a review from Devin Smith just before mine from 3 weeks ago with the same comments about the service and having to ask multiple servers when needing something.
